Q. How do I cite a direct quote when my source doesn't have page numbers?

Answer

Some texts, including older versions of Kindle ebooks, web pages, and Internet-only journals, do not have page numbers. When you quote from one of these sources, your in-text will be the same as a regular document would be with one exception: because these formats don't contain page numbers, provide a section heading and paragraph number (use para. before the number) inside the parentheses instead. This is also the way to cite html versions of articles.

Example

(McFarland, 2010, Styling the Menu Bar, para. 1)
