Q. What is a block quote, and how do I format one?

Answer

Direct quotes that are 40 or more words in length are formatted as block quotes in APA (2010) style. This means that the quote is set apart from the main text as a separate paragraph, and the entire paragraph is indented half an inch on the left side.
